Yoga for the Prevention & Healing of Diastasis Recti
Diastasis Recti Workshop - 1-day CPD course
This one-day continuing professional development course introduces Yoga techniques for addressing Diastasis Recti, or abdominal separation, after birth. Participants will learn what Diastasis Recti is, how it manifests and how to test for it. We will practice integrative techniques with breath focus to help restore the integrity of the linea alba, the deep abdominal core and the hammock of the pelvic floor muscles. We will learn simple guidelines for everyday life activities, carrying and lifting babies and postnatal yoga practice that will best protect the body's healing after pregnancy and birth.

We require a minimum of 6 participants to run the course. The maximum number of participants will be determined according to the Federal Office of Health regulations at the time.

Gisela began teaching Prenatal Yoga in 2005. Becoming pregnant herself a couple of years later allowed her to experience firsthand the profound effects of the Birthlight approach. After certifying in Perinatal Yoga in 2009, she went on to certify in Postnatal and Well Woman Yoga as well as Nurturing Baby Massage and Baby Yoga.
Gisela has been training teachers in Perinatal Yoga since 2016 and is the Birthlight Training Coordinator for Switzerland. She is a certified childbirth Doula and mother to two teenies. She has had the pleasure of sharing Birthlight Yoga with mothers and families in Zürich for over 15 years. She continues to offer weekly classes in Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga, Baby Massage and Baby Yoga.
